who are driven to embrace and experience the UNCOMMON.

Building a brand-new athletic department from the ground up comes with a distinctive set of
challenges, or as we Mighty Banyans like to refer to them, opportunities. Rallied around a
central theme of elevating beyond expectation, our mission and purpose are rooted, like our
mascot in creating an uncommon experience. This is commitment extends beyond our staff,
current and potential student athletes and their families, to our opponents, and into the
community.

While there are many great models New College could attempt to emulate in pursuit of
excellence, we know a copy is never going to be as good as the original or the right fit for every
campus. New College celebrates the diverse and unique traits of each individual, offers a
learning approach that is highly personalized, and challenges top students to make goals far
outside the typical comfort zone. That's because we hold a commitment to elevating our
student athletes' experiences as much as their successful outcomes in higher education. We
see that mission as anything but ordinary. When that commitment to the individual student
athlete is infused into the culture of teams going after a shared goal, uncommonly great things
happen.

While it may seem safer to travel among the pack, fit in and blend, NCF is focused on standing
out through a diverse collective of ideas, thoughts, words, and actions that go beyond the
standard. We see the uncommon as a distinct competitive advantage in education, athletics,
and life beyond the college. Stand outs are hired more often, rise in competition, and
consistently add value that surpasses expectation. Uncommon actions are the ones that go
beyond the minimum and seek to make a positive impact wherever our feet are.
To be uncommon is to be extraordinary, unexpected, exceptional, rare, and remarkable. In the
3 months of recruiting leading up to kick off year one of Mighty Banyan athletics, 120
extraordinary student athletes were enrolled, and as the fall semester commenced, 6 sports
launched on campus with uncommon chemistry and results. Coaches were hired not only for
their ability to competitively teach their respective sport, grow a winning culture, and recruit
athletes, but more importantly their unique commitment to the uncommon experience of each
student athlete, to enrich their academic and athletic pursuits.

The future of the Mighty Banyans is filled with opportunity, a blank page where a story has only
begun to unfold. Where unlimited potential has already surpassed expectation and the typical.
The path ahead is leading us to great destinations, and it's ready for those seeking to take the
first step towards the exceptionally uncommon experience of building the Mighty Banyan
legacy.
