In its second meet in program history, New College of Florida's Men's and Women's Cross Country teams showed steady improvement as the men finished sixth out of nine placing teams and the Women had two runners in action at the Hoka Nights of Thunder in TallahasseeĀ , Friday.
The 8K Men's Race saw sophomoreĀ
Natheer Suied pace the Mighty Banyans with a time of 28:45.17 as he placed 25th overall out of 91 runners from 12 different schools.
FreshmanĀ
Xavier Rivera-Melendez placed 49th with a time ofĀ 30:36.22, juniorĀ
Andrew Rodriguez finished 51st with a time of 30:58.86, freshman
Owen Euler finished fourth at 31:11:61, freshman
Alex Llanos finished 55th at 31:47:99, and freshmanĀ
Pierce Mihailoff rounded out the Mighty Banyans in 73rd at 35:43.73.
NCAA DII programĀ Florida Southern earned the Men's Race victory as it had each of the top seven finishers in the race.
On the Women's side, NCF did not qualify to finish in the team standings for the 5K race, but did have two runners in action as freshmanĀ
Arianna Childs placed 67th out of 120 runners with a time ofĀ 23:28.26, while fellow freshman
Abby Retberg finished 99th with a time ofĀ 27:17.13.
NCF's Men's and Women's teams will be back in action Sept. 26 at theĀ GCSU Bobcat Invite in Atlanta.Ā
