The first race in NCF Cross Country history is in the books as the Mighty Banyans Men's and Women's teams both participated in the Swan City Cross Country hosted by Southeastern in Lakeland Saturday morning.
NCF's Men's team ran a 6K race and placed 10th out of 11 teams.
Natheer Suied was the Mighty Banyans' top finisher, placing in 68th place out of 138 runners at 20:56.6.
Xavier Rivera-Melendez placed 93rd at 21:50.4,
Andrew Rodriguez placed 101st at 22:19.9,
Alex Llanos placed 125th at 23:53.0, and
Pierce Mihailoff placed 132nd at 26:00.4.
The Women's team did not place, as only two runners participated in the 4K race for the Mighty Banyans.
Arianna Childs placed a team-best 82nd out of 113 runners at 18:03.3, while
Abby Retberg placed 94th at 19:23.9.Â
Both the NCF men and women will be back in action next Saturday at the HOKA Nights of Thunder Cross Country Fest in Tallahassee.Â
