SARASOTA, Fla. - In just its second year as a member of The Sun Conference, New College of Florida Athletics made a major jump in the 2025-26 Commissioner's Cup standings, climbing three spots to finish sixth overall after placing ninth during the 2024-25 academic year.
The Commissioner's Cup standings recognize overall athletic department success across conference-sponsored sports throughout the academic year.
New College finished with 97.5 total points, trailing only perennial conference powers Keiser, Southeastern, St. Thomas, Ave Maria, and SCAD Savannah in the final standings.
The rise in the standings highlighted a historic year for the Mighty Banyans across multiple programs.
Leading the way was the beach volleyball program, which captured the first Sun Conference regular season championship in department history while also earning the program's first-ever national postseason berth at the NAIA Women's Beach Volleyball National Invitational.
Men's Tennis also delivered a breakthrough campaign, finishing third in the Sun Conference standings while earning a bid to the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship in the program's inaugural season.
Indoor Volleyball posted a 20-win season and advanced to the Sun Conference Tournament Championship match.
Softball added another milestone season after setting a new program record with 32 victories during the 2026 campaign.
On the pitch, Men's Soccer emerged as one of the conference's premier teams, finishing 14-4-1 overall while leading the Sun Conference in goals scored during the regular season.
