New College of Florida Women's Golf opened its 2026-27 season with an eighth-place finish at the 15-team Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational at Jekyll Island Golf Club's Great Dunes Course.
The Mighty Banyans sat in fifth place following the opening two rounds, while junior Madidson Balaskiewicz held 12th place individually. NCF completed the three-round tournament with a team score of 968.
Balaskiewicz led the Mighty Banyans with a 22-over-par 238, finishing one stroke ahead of senior Brittany Odic. Junior Rebecca Luchs followed at 24-over, while senior Alexa Fallis and junior Gabby Gionta rounded out the NCF lineup.
Senior Tereza Miksovska competed as an individual and did not count toward the Mighty Banyans' team score.
TOURNAMENT NOTES
BALASKIEWICZ LEADS THE WAY: Balaskiewicz opened the tournament with consecutive rounds of 77, placing her 12th on the individual leaderboard through 36 holes. She finished with a final-round 84 for a three-round total of 238.
STRONG FINISH FOR ODIC: Odic improved by three strokes between the opening two rounds, following an 81 with a 78. She closed the tournament with an 80 to finish at 23-over with a total of 239.
LUCHS FIRES TEAM-LOW ROUND: Luchs recorded NCF's lowest round of the tournament with a 4-over 76 during the second round. She finished with rounds of 82, 76 and 82 for a 24-over total of 240.
ROUNDING OUT THE LINEUP: Fallis posted rounds of 82, 85 and 86 to finish at 37-over with a total of 253. Gionta carded rounds of 80, 89 and 94, completing the tournament at 47-over with a total of 263.
COMPETING INDIVIDUALLY: Miksovska recorded three rounds in the 80s while competing as an individual. She posted scores of 83, 83 and 84 to finish at 34-over with a total of 250.
