Alison Denney is the Head Beach Volleyball Coach at New College of Florida, bringing NCAA Division I playing experience, academic expertise, and rising coaching leadership to the program. After serving as Interim Head Coach during the 2025 season, Denney officially took over the program heading into the 2025-2026 season, continuing her mission to build a competitive and athlete-focused culture on and off the sand.
A former top-level NCAA athlete, Denney played beach volleyball at both the University of South Carolina (2016–2018) and Florida International University (FIU) (2018–2021), competing at the highest levels of the collegiate game. Her years of experience on nationally ranked teams provided a deep understanding of elite beach volleyball systems, match preparation, and high-level competition.
Denney holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, both from FIU. Her academic background in mental performance and movement science informs her coaching philosophy, which emphasizes athlete wellness, mental toughness, and evidence-based training.
In just her first full year of college coaching, Denney has already made a strong impact, bringing energy, discipline, and a vision for long-term program success.
