Aaron Gershon brings nearly a decade of experience in sports journalism to his new role as Sports Information Director at New College of Florida. After an eight-year career covering collegiate athletics at the highest levels, Gershon is excited to transition into sports communications, where he can combine his storytelling skills, media expertise, and passion for athletics to elevate the visibility of New College's athletic programs.
Before joining New College, Gershon spent seven seasons covering University of Kentucky athletics, including men’s basketball, football, and baseball. During his time on the beat, he reported live from multiple NCAA Tournaments, several Kentucky football bowl games, and capped his coverage with the 2024 College World Series. His work provided in-depth coverage and analysis for passionate Wildcat fans across the country.
In addition to his Kentucky coverage, Gershon served as Sports Editor of the Princeton Daily Clarion in Princeton, Indiana, where he led local sports reporting and editorial efforts for one year.
Gershon is a 2020 graduate of the University of Kentucky, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. His deep understanding of media relations, combined with his firsthand experience navigating the evolving landscape of collegiate sports, uniquely positions him to tell the stories of New College athletes and programs with authenticity and impact.
