New College of Florida

Alex Cummings joined the New College of Florida men's basketball staff in 2025 after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at Webber International University. While at Webber, he played a key role in recruiting, player development, scouting, and the daily operations of the program, helping the Warriors earn a berth in the 2024 NAIA National Tournament.

Before his time at Webber International, Cummings served as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of South Florida under former head coach Brian Gregory. He also spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Westerville Central High School in Ohio.

A graduate of Ohio University, Cummings began his coaching career as a student manager for the Bobcats men's basketball program under former head coach Saul Phillips from 2017-19, gaining valuable experience in player development and program operations.

Cummings and his wife, Emily, are excited to be part of the New College community. Emily serves as the College's Head Swim & Dive Coach.
