Devin Gilligan joined the New College of Florida men's basketball coaching staff in 2025 while continuing to compete internationally with USA Basketball as a member of Team Phoenix on the FIBA 3x3 Men's World Tour.
Gilligan brings a wealth of playing experience to the Mighty Banyans after a nine-year professional career that included stops in Sweden, Canada, Colombia, Indonesia, Norway, and Japan. He was also selected in the NBA G League Draft by the Delaware 87ers, adding to an accomplished playing résumé spanning multiple levels of international basketball.
Prior to his professional career, Gilligan starred at Southern New Hampshire University, helping lead the Penmen to three NCAA Division II Tournament appearances. As a senior in 2016-17, he averaged 20.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while leading the program to a 21-9 record.
Gilligan also served as an assistant coach at Southern New Hampshire during the 2021-22 season, giving him experience on both the coaching and playing sides of the game. His unique background provides New College student-athletes with firsthand insight into player development, professional preparation, and high-level competition.
