New College of Florida Men's and Women's Tennis head coach Erin Bryce added Travis Eckert to her debut staff as a volunteer assistant coach ahead of the Mighty Banyans Tennis programs' inaugural season.

"I am thrilled to announce that Travis Eckert will be joining our tennis coaching staff here at New College," Bryce said. "Travis brings decades of successful experience developing both professional and elite junior players. He is deeply entrenched in our local tennis community and will serve as a tremendous resource for our program. 

"With such a high level of expertise and strong commitment to helping young athletes grow, we are poised to take our program to the next level with his assistance."

"I'm looking forward to helping the New College of Florida Men's/Women's tennis teams in any way I can," Eckert added. "I hope to pass on as much knowledge as possible, in my role as Volunteer Assistant Coach, to these young student athletes and look forward to working with Coach Bryce and the Athletic Department to help build a great culture here! Go Banyans!!"

Eckert played varsity tennis at Seminole High School in Seminole, Florida, where he graduated in 1991.

He continued his playing career at PennWest Edinboro, then known as Edinboro University in Edinboro, Pennsylvania.

After one season in the Keystone State, Eckert transferred to the University of Florida, where he played three seasons for the Gators and graduated in 1997 with a degree in Sociology.

Immediately following his graduation from the University of Florida, Eckert began his coaching career, where from 1997-2005 he served as head travel coach at the Billy Stearns Tennis Center, coaching players on the prestigious International Tennis Federation (ITF), Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), and Women's Tennis Association (WTA) circuits.

Since 2005, Eckert has served as the owner and director of the Sarasota based Next Generation Tennis Academy which is home to the The Sarasota Smackdown UTR tournament series.

Throughout his coaching career, Eckert has worked with multiple ATP and WTA tour players including Alexandra Stevenson, Katarina Srebotnik, Danielle Collins, Tina Klizan, Sunitha Rao, Aliaksandra Sasnovich, Fabrice Martin, Andreas Bubik, Huzaifa Abdul Rehman and William Mroz.
