SARASOTA, Fla. – New College men's soccer defeated the University of Fort Lauderdale thanks to a dominating second half offense.
The Mighty Banyans hosted the Eagles in a competitive game on Saturday. The Banyans and Eagles played each other to a stalemate through the majority of the first half.
Kais Sabic scored a header late in the half off a beautiful corner entry from
Roy Quest, giving the Banyans a 1-0 lead heading into the break.
The Banyans found their stride quickly in the second half.
Kais Sabic and
Peter Simmons both added early goals, extending the Banyan lead to three.
Sabic would find the back of the net yet again, completing his hat-trick and putting the game away.
Coach Konga was very impressed with his teams performance. "I am immensely proud of the team's relentless effort throughout the entire game. With the recent struggles in scoring, witnessing those goals today was a significant boost, and securing our first clean sheet of the year is a testament."
The Banyans are back in action on Tuesday Oct. 17, when they host Atlantis University at 3 p.m.
