SARASOTA, Fla. - New College of Florida men's soccer continued their stretch of good play over the weekend, winning 4-3 against Millenia Atlantic University and playing the University of Fort Lauderdale to a 1-1 draw.
The Banyans entered the weekend on the heels of a 4-3 comeback win over Trinity Baptist College, capitalizing on the momentum in game one of their weekend travels.
New College found themselves trailing Millenia Atlantic in the opening frame. The Banyans eventually recovered, stealing a goal and tying the game in the second.
MAU responded, regaining their lead and taking control of the game.
The Banyans continued to fight, scoring the equalizer and go-ahead goal in dramatic fashion. New College maintained their lead to the last whistle, capturing another comeback victory.
Following their victory, the Banyans traveled to Lauderhill to face the Eagles.
The first half was a stalemate, with both teams defenses showing promise. The Banyans and Eagles held each other to minimal scoring opportunities, forcing both teams to rely on stellar midfield play to control the momentum of the game.
The Banyans and Eagles would both score in the second half, leading to yet another dramatic finish.
Both teams failed to capitalize, leading to a 1-1 draw as the buzzer sounded.
The Banyans now look forward to Oct. 10, when they travel to Miami, Fla. to play Atlantis University.
