TAMPA, Fla - The Banyans came from behind to win their season opener on the road against the Florida College Falcons. 

Early indications pointed towards a tight match-up with only three points separating the two teams at 37-34 entering halftime. Things started to get rough for the Banyans however, as a series of missed shots and poor execution allowed Florida College to go up by 16 with just over three to play in the second half. 

Faced with a large deficit in crunch time, a strong Banyan defensive effort clipped the Falcon's wings offensively, slowing them down just enough for New College to get within tying distance. Down three with 11 seconds remaining on the game clock, Jordan Clark sank a three pointer to send the game to overtime. 

Holding all of the momentum, the Banyans were quick to take the lead in overtime and refused to give it up, leading to a 96-93 overtime victory. 

Clark led his team in points scored, putting 25 on the board for the Banyans. Behind him were Charlie Yoder (23) and Diego Eslava (20). Yoder led the way on defense with seven defensive rebounds. 

Following the win, the 1-0 Banyans will stay on the road to face Brewton-Parker College on November 1st.
