SARASOTA, Fla - The Banyans win at home against Trinity College in a 68-30 blowout.
The matchup proved to be a one-sided affair early as the Banyans closed out the first quarter up 24-6.
Gwen Tsoukalas was credited with 10 points in the early window, leading a New College attack that found success on both sides of the ball. Exciting the first half the Banyans were up 35-17.
In the second half, New College was able to use their large halftime lead to keep Trinity College at an arm's length for the remainder of the game, ending the contest with a 68-30 final score.
The offensive might flashed by the Banyans was complimented by a sturdy defense, New College creating 27 points off turnovers through four quarters. The young team proved many hands make light work as six different Banyans had multiple turnovers,
Jania Jones leading the group with four.
Carson Defries led her team in points scored, putting up 18 on the day. Behind her was Tsoukalas with 13. New College also found success at the free throw line, shooting 13-13 through three quarters of play, and finishing 15-17 on the day.
Following the home victory, the Banyans will go on the road to face Trinity Baptist College on November 9th.
