WOMENS BASKETBALL VICTORIOUS IN FINAL GAME OF THE SEASON

SARASOTA, Fla. - The Mighty Banyans women's basketball team picked up a big 74-41 win over Trinity College in their final game of their inaugural season. 

The Banyans were led by an impressive offense, which rallied to shoot 43.8% from the field and 45.8% from the three point line. 

The Banyans first quarter was an impressive display of basketball on both ends of the floor. Sierra Moore and Franchesa Derilus kept the Banyans offense afloat. Sierra Moore led NCF with 4 points in the quarter, also grabbing 5 rebounds with 1 assist. Franchesca Derilus also added 4 points with 2 rebounds. 

After scoring only 10 first quarter points, the New College offense rebounded with an exciting 22 points in the second frame. 8 Banyan players scored in the quarter as the team knocked down 64% of their shots from the field and 42% of their shots from beyond the arc. The Banyans second quarter dominance helped them jump out to a 32-19 lead going into the halfway mark.

The Banyans continued their excellent play in the third quarter. Emma Reiser was firing on all cylinders, scoring 8 points on a perfect 3-3 shooting from the field. C'Dara Manuel added 6 points, helping the Banyans extend their lead to 23 going into the fourth quarter. 

The Banyans pulled away in the fourth quarter. New College scored 20 points in the frame, connecting on 50% of their shots from downtown. Gwen Tsoukalas and Rene Ahwal led the scoring in the 4th, scoring 6 points a piece. Ciara Barr, Jadyn Lattimore, and Jayla Washington all added scoring in the quarter. The Banyans impressive all around play helped them to a 74-41 win in the team's final game of the season.

Sierra Moore and Emma Reiser led all scorers with 11 points. 

C'Dara Manuel added 8 points and 5 rebounds. 

Tatiana Jackson had a great all-around game, totaling 6 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists.
