SHAINAH JOSEPH SET TO HELP LEAD NEW COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL IN INAUGURAL SEASON

SARASOTA, Fla. - Shaïnah Joseph joins New College of Florida as the Assistant Coach of the Women's Volleyball Team, bringing a wealth of experience from her impressive collegiate and professional career. 
 
          Recruited from Canada, Joseph earned a full scholarship to the University of Florida (UF). As one of Canada's top athletes, she received Ontario's 2013 Evelyn Holick Award, awarded to a female youth division athlete in recognition of outstanding commitment, dedication to the sport of volleyball, leadership, sportsmanship and athletic ability. As a Florida Gator, Joseph excelled as a standout player, winning three SEC Championship titles, noting her exceptional performance in 2017, helping lead the Gators to the NCAA Championship Finals and credited as the emotional leader of the team. Joseph earned her a spot on the AVCA All-American Second Team, the VolleyballMag.com All-American Team and the All-SEC Team. 
 
Throughout her time at UF, Joseph's impressive performance goes beyond the court and demonstrated her commitment to community service and leadership. She earned two All-SEC Community Service awards and served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as historian and vice president.
 
          Joseph's collegiate success laid the foundation for her inspiring and decorated professional career, playing internationally and in the United States. As a professional, Joseph has competed at the highest levels of international volleyball. Over six years, she played for clubs in Bulgaria, Taiwan, Philippines, Japan and France, showcasing her versatility and adaptability. During her time in Japan, Joseph and her team won the V-League Cup. Impressively, Joseph has also competed in the European Club Volleyball Champions League. Most recently, Joseph played for the Orlando Valkyries in the inaugural year of the Pro Volleyball Federation, further solidifying her status as an elite player and helping establish a new generation of professional volleyball in the United States. 
 
Throughout Joseph's career, she has been a member of the Canadian Senior Women's National Volleyball Team for 12 years. As a National Team player, she has competed in the most prestigious tournaments in the world to include Volleyball Nations League, World Championships, Pan-American Volleyball Championship, FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix, Pan-American Final Four and two Olympic Qualifier Tournaments.
 
Additionally, Joseph has coached and supported numerous volleyball camps, clinics and individual training starting in high school and continuing throughout college and her professional career. She is often a mentor to the next generation of professional athletes.
 
With her extensive playing experience and deep understanding of the game, Joseph is poised to make a significant impact on New College of Florida's volleyball program, inspiring and developing the next generation of talented student athletes.
 
Joseph remains an active professional athlete and will be competing in the Pro Volleyball Federation's upcoming 2025 season with Atlanta Vibe, who were the 2024 regular season champions.
