NCF Women's Soccer To Host St. Thomas For Senior Day

SARASOTA, Fla. - NCF Women's Soccer (2-8-1, 2-1-1) will return home to the NCF Bayfront Wednesday to honor its Senior Day Match at 2 p.m. EST against Sun Conference foe St. Thomas (7-3-3, 2-1-1).

The Mighty Banyans will honor 13 seniors as Beatryz Bueno Duarte, Alexandra Sibrikova, Luisa Campos Ribeiro de Noronha, Marina Flores, Naomi Woerner, Gabriela Dos Santos De Medeiros, Jaylen Turner, Lucia Blaha, Sofia Hernandez Cruz, Abigail Hansen, Leah Massiah, Leticia Guimaraes and Scarlett Archer will all be recognized in a ceremony following the match and before NCF's varsity reserve squad plays at 3:30 p.m. EST.

NCF and St. Thomas will be meeting for the second time this season as the Bobcats defeated the Mighty Banynas 4-1 on Sept. 16 in a non-conference match in Miami Gardens.

Of Note

  • NCF finished in a 1-1 draw with defending NAIA National Champion and No. 11 ranked SCAD Saturday on the road. Naomi Woerner scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season in the draw, while Avaya Wright made eight saves in net.
  • Wright earned her second straight Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week Award for her performance against SCAD.
  • After a 0-7-0 showing in non-conference play, NCF has gone 2-1-1 in Sun Conference play, defeating Warner and Webber, falling to No. 1 Keiser and drawing with SCAD. At 2-1-1, the Mighty Banyans sit in a tie with St. Thomas and SCAD for second-place in the Sun Conference standings only behind Keiser (3-0) and No. 24 Southeastern (3-1).
  • Since defeating NCF on Sept. 16, St. Thomas is 3-1-2 with wins over Florida Memorial, Webber and Florida National, a loss to No. 1 Keiser and draws with SCAD and Ave Maria.
