NCF Volleyball (12-2, 7-2) will look to make a jump into second-place and perhaps even a first-place tie in the Sun Conference Standings Wednesday when it battles Southeastern (16-2, 7-1) at 6:30 p.m. EST in Lakeland.

The Mighty Banyans currently sit half a game behind both the Fire and St. Thomas for first-place in the Sun Conference standings.

NCF swept Southeastern 3-0 at SCF-Bradenton on Sept. 13, handing the Fire its first loss of conference play thus far.

• NCF earned a 3-2 win at Ave Maria in its lone match last week. The victory avenged a 3-2 Sept. 5 home loss to the Gyrenes.
• Soraya Nacero was named the Sun Conference Attacker Of The Week for the first time this season on Monday, while Maria Luiza Barreis was named the Sun Conference Defender Of The Week for their performance against Ave Maria. Nacero logged a season-high 20 kills while Luiza Barreis logged a season-high 36 digs.
• Luiza Barreis has won three Sun Conference Defender of the Week awards, including each of the last two weeks.
• NCF has had at least one Sun Conference weekly award winner since Sept. 1.
• Since losing at NCF on Sept. 13, Southeastern has won seven straight, defeating Ave Maria, Florida College, Keiser, Webber, Warner, and No. 12 St. Thomas and Florida Memorial.
