NCF Volleyball To Host Warner In Sun Conference Quarterfinals

NCF Volleyball (18-4, 10-4) will begin its quest for an automatic bid to the NAIA Tournament when it hosts Warner (10-13, 4-10) in the Sun Conference Tournament Quarterfinals Tuesday at 7 p.m. at SCF-Bradenton.

The winner of Tuesday's match will advance to Friday's Semifinals in Miami Gardens, hosted by No. 1-seeded St. Thomas, to take on No. 2-seeded Southeastern. St. Thomas will face the winner of Tuesday's other Sun Conference quarterfinal, which will be played between No. 5-seeded Keiser and No. 4-seeded Ave Maria.

The Mighty Banynas will be back in the Sun Conference Tournament for a second straight season. Last year, NCF was the No. 4 seed and defeated No. 5 seeded Webber 3-1 at home in the Quarterfinals before falling to St. Thomas 3-1 in the Semifinals in Miami Gardens.
NCF won both of its matches over Warner in regular season play this season, beating the Royals 3-0 in Lake Wales on Sept. 24 and 3-1 at home on Oct. 29.
The Oct. 29 3-1 win over Warner came on NCF's Senior Night and saw Wiktoria Telecka post a season-high 22 kills for NCF, while Soraya Nacero (16) and Jayleen Santiago (15) also finished with double-digit kills.
Rafaela Domingos matched a season-high with 55 assists on her Senior Night against Warner, while fellow senior Maria Luiza Barreis posted a season-high 41 digs.
Entering postseason play, Luiza Barreis ranks fourth in the NAIA in digs per set (6.05) and Domingos ranks fourth in the NAIA in assists per set (11.1). Santiago, who leads the team in kills, ranks 15th in the country, averaging 3.92 per set.
Warner is led in kills by Leah Cooley, who is averaging 2.33 assists by Imar Laboy with 4.84 per set and digs by Ashlyn Fassnacht with 4.80 digs per set.
