NCF Men's Basketball dropped to 1-1 on the season Saturday as it fell 86-73 in Temple Terrace to non-conference foe Florida College.
After opening the game on an 8-3 run, the remainder of the first half was a struggle for the Mighty Banyans as Florida College countered by outscoring NCF 38-13 the remainder of the half to take a commanding 41-21 lead into the break.
Florida College wound up maintaining control for the reaminder of the contest, growing its lead up to as many as 31 before the Mighty Banyans used a late run to cut the final deficit to 13.
NCF was led in scoring by
Colby Chapman, who scored 16 points off the bench. He was joined in double figures by
Shawn Lefresne with 12 points.
Jonathan Olodude led NCF in rebounds with six, Lefresne dished a team-high six assists, while both Olodude and
Adrian Moore each picked up a pair of steals.
The Mighty Banyans will be back in action Friday when it welcome Baptist University of Florida to SCF-Bradenton. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. EST.
