The Mighty Banyans Men's Basketball team beat Webber International University 72-69 on Adrian Moore's buzzer beating three pointer.
The Banyans were deadlocked with the Warriors for the entirety of the game, both teams only led by as much as six.
Webber got off to the early lead in the game, going into the first timeout the Warriors led the Banyans 9-6. However, layups by Jack Scott and Charlie Yoder tied the game up at 11.
Coming out of the five minute timeout, the Warriors found the net on a layup and three pointer to give them a 27-21 lead.Â
Following that run however, the Banyans were able to respond. Riding the back of Charlie Yoder and Diego Eslava connecting for three pointers in the first half, the Banyans walked into the half tied with Webber at 32.
Early in the second half, the Banyans were able to take control, grabbing their largest lead of the game, six, with just about 8 minutes to play. Webber then was able to answer with two consecutive three pointers of their own to tie the game at 62.
The Warriors were able to grow their lead to 4 with just under 4 minutes left when Banyan' guard Jordan Clark drove to the basket and drew a foul. Clark would knock down both of his free throws proving key in this game.
After the Banyans forced a turnover, Yoder took the fastbreak the other way for the lay up that would officially tie the game with just under a minute to play.
When the Banyans played their final defensive possession, they were able to lock down Warrior guard Orlando Thomas when it counted most, grab the rebound, and call timeout.
Out of the timeout, the attention was drawn towards Jordan Clark, who was able to drive to the basket and find Adrian Moore in the corner for the winning three pointer.
Charlie Yoder led the team with 18 points, Jack Scott was able to grab 5 boards off the glass, and Jordan Clark and Shawn Lafresne dished out 5 assists each.
The Banyans will be home next Saturday when they take on St. Thomas University at 4 pm.
