BRADENTON, Fl.
Banyans Women's Golf participates in the Shenandoah Spring Fling in Bradenton, Florida this weekend at the Heritage Harbour Golf & Eatery.
The Banyans returned from their winter break with their best performance of the year at the Coastal Georgia Winter Invitational scoring 30 points better than the SSC Fall Warm-Up, showing constant improvement throughout the season.
Alexa Fallis has been a standstill for the Banyans so far this season, finishing with consistent solid numbers each time out, including a performance at the Southeastern University Invitational that saw her finish the first round shooting +9, and finished 34th.Â
At that same invitational, Rebecca Luchs was able to put up a +8 in round two, which helped her climb the rankings to 38th.
"There is a lot of excitement going on in our program because we have a lot of interest with new girls coming in so this is going to probably push the girls that are in the program to work even harder than they are to make this program even more successful," said head coach Judy Carlson.
In the previous time out, Fallis had another performance where she put up more consistent numbers, with a +12 and +13 to lead the team.
The Shenandoah Spring Fling will be the first NCAA Division III invitational that the women have competed in this season with five other participants also taking part in the event. Those schools are Marymount University (VA), Concordia University (TX), Lourdes University, Gordon College, and Shenandoah University.
The Shenandoah Spring Fling is set to kick off on March 9 and go through March 11.
