SARASOTA, Fla. – New College of Florida Men's Soccer will officially open its first season under new head coach Cesar Markovic when it hosts Sun Conference Foe Warner in its regular season opener Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the NCF Bayfront field.
The contest will not be counted towards either team's Sun Conference record. NCF and Warner will meet again Sept. 27 in Lake Wales in what will be considered a conference matchup.

OF NOTE
- The Mighty Banyans defeated Millennia Atlantic University 2-1 in an exhibition at Premier Sports Campus Saturday, Aug. 16. Both Sebastián Pedraza and Juan Palomino scored goals for NCF, with Palomino scoring at the 71:28 mark to seal the victory.
- NCF attempted 13 shots, including seven on goal, in the exhibition against MAU. Freshman Cameron Johnson led the team with four shot attempts, with two coming on goal.
- Thursday's game will be the first-ever played at the NCF Bayfront field.
- Cesar Markovic, who was announced as the second head coach in NCF Men's Soccer history on Aug. 10, will coach his first regular season game, leading the Mighty Banyans Thursday. Markovic has collected 217 career head coaching victories across multiple stops that include four NCAA DI programs and Sun Conference foe Ave Maria.
- NCF has been picked to finish eighth in the preseason Sun Conference coaches poll. Warner is projected to finish sixth.
- Drew Stacey returns for his 10th season as head coach at Warner University. He owns a career head coaching record of 154-150-16 in head coaching stints at both Southeastern University and Warner.
