NCF Volleyball to host Loyola New Orleans in season opener

New College of Florida Volleyball will open its 2025 season Thursday by welcoming Loyola New Orleans to State College of Florida-Bradenton for a 6 p.m. EST showdown.

The match will mark the first for NCF under new head coach David McFatrich.

Of Note

  • David McFatrich, who owns a 137-92 career head coaching record between NCAA DI stops at Central Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Charleston Southern, enters his first season leading the Mighty Banyans. He will be assisted by his daughter, Elle McFatrich, who enters her first year as an assistant coach with the Mighty Banyans.
  • 2024 First-Team All SUN Conference selection, Rafaela Domingos, a senior setter, returns to lead the 2025 Mighty Banyans. Domingos logged a team-high 655 assists last season, ranking fifth in the Sun Conference.
  • Other notable returners for NCF include senior outside hitter Jayleen Santiago, who ranked fourth on team in points (139.0) and kills (123) last season, senior defensive specialist Maria Luiza Barreis, who ranked third on the team in digs (201) and fourth on the team in assists (29) and sophomore outside hitter Kaitlynn Dean who recorded 40 kills as a freshman last season.
  • Loyola New Orleans, coached by Robert Pitre, is 5-3 on the season so far. It went 3-1 on a four-game road trip in Kentucky at the Roar and Raid Invitational and 2-2 hosting the Wolf Pack Welcome, which included sweeping NCF's Sun Conference rivals Florida Memorial 3-0.
  • Isis Harink leads the Wolf Pack with 80 kills so far this season.
