TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - NCF Volleyball improved to 2-0 on the season Sunday as it took down Park Gilbert (AZ) 3-1 at Florida College in a match the Mighty Banyans served as the home team.
NCF jumped out to a 2-0 set lead as it won the first set 25-20 and the second set 25-16.
The Buccaneers rallied to take the third set 25-17 and led the fourth set 23-22 before the Mighty Banyans rallied to score three straight points to win the set 25-23.
Junior
Wiktoria Telecka led the Mighty Banyans with 22.0 points as she recorded a team-high 16 kills and five service aces. Senior
Jayleen Santiago had 15.0 points in the win as she logged 12 kills, a service ace, and two blocks, while junior
Soraya Nacero had 11 kills in the victory.

Rafaela Domingos logged a team-high 43 assists for the Banyans while also adding 11 digs and three kills.Â

Maria Luiza Barreis recorded a team-leading 30 digs while adding six assists.Â
NCF will be back in action Friday when it begins the Mighty Banyan Invitational Play at SCF-Bradenton at 2 p.m. against Sun Conference foe Ave Maria.Â
