NCF Men's Soccer Set To Battle Florida Memorial In Miami

After two straight rain outs, New College of Florida (1-0, 0-0) is scheduled to play its first game in over two weeks Saturday at Orange Bowl Field in Ives Estates, Florida against Sun Conference foe Florida Memorial (2-0-1)

The match will not be counted as a conference game; the Mighty Banyans and Lions will meet again Oct. 22 in Sarastoa in what will be considered a conference match.

OF NOTE
  • NCF played just 28 minutes at Florida College Saturday Aug. 23 before the game was canceled due to weather. The game was tied at 0-0 when it was called off. No makeup date has been announced. NCF then had an Aug. 27 match in Doral against Albizu postponed due to weather. That game will be made up Sept. 15 at 12:30 p.m. EST. 
  •  NCF impressed on opening night on Aug. 21 with a 3-0 victory over Warner in its first game under new head coach Cesar Markovic and the first-ever played on the NCF Bayfront Field. Markovic now owns 218 career wins as a head coach.
  • Ducamel Jeannestin, Cameron Johnson and Andrew Scott all scored unassisted goals in the victory over Warner for NCF.
  • Mathis Leveque made four saves in a shutout victory against the Lions.
  • Florida Memorial is 2-0-1 so far this season. It owns a 3-2 road win over Webber, 4-0 road win over Florida College and drew 1-1 with Xavier University of Louisiana (La.) at home.
  • Sophomore Nasreddine Benbella has already scored four goals this season for Florida Memorial. Junior Mohamed Sadiki ranks second on the team so far this season with two goals. 
  • FMU senior goaltender Ricardo Delgado Villalobos has saved 81.3 (13-of-16) percent of shots attempted on goal so far this season.
