BRADENTON, Fla. - NCF Baseball evened its four-game weekend series with Briar Cliff Friday by earning a 3-1 Game 2 victory.

Tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the eighth, the Mighty Banyans rallied for two late runs as Fernando Espinal delivered a go-ahead RBI single and Andrew Merchant was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

On the mound, Dalton Hill set the tone tossing 5.2 innings of one-run ball, striking out six Chargers, Coe Powell picked up the final out of the top of the sixth and Braxten Plemons finished off the victory tossing three scoreless to pick up the win.

NCF and Briar Cliff will finish its four-game set by playing a doubleheader Saturday starting at Noon EST.
