SARASOTA, Fla. - NCF Women's Basketball dropped a heart breaker at home to Warner 60-58 in overtime Wednesday, falling to 7-17 overall and 0-15 in Sun Conference play.
After taking a 26-19 lead into halftime, NCF fell behind after three quarters as Warner outscored the Mighty Banyans 21-4 in the third to take a 38-30 lead.
NCF was able to counter the Warner run with a 52-49 lead with five seconds to go, but the Royals were able to force overtime as Aleyna Sherman drilled a game-tying three with two seconds left to play.
A jumper from
Tatiana Jackson gave NCF a 58-56 lead with 1:01 left to play, but from there, the Royals finished the game on a 4-0 road to earn the victory.
Gwen Tsoukalas led NCF with 22 points and was joined in double figures by Jackson with 17.
Sania Thomas grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds,
Camila Zbynski dished a team-high three assists while grabbing eight rebounds and finishing tied with Tsoukalas and Thomas with a team-high three steals, while
Halle Shelt picked up a team-high two blocks.
NCF will finish the 2025-26 season Saturday when it hosts St. Thomas for Senior Day at 2 p.m. EST.
