RV NCF Beach Volleyball opened its 2026 season with a pair of Sun Conference victory's as it defeated St. Thomas 4-1 and Florida Memorial 5-0 at St. Thomas in Miami Gardens Saturday.
Match 1 vs. St. Thomas
In its season opener,Â
Cassidy Casey and Oliva Fenstemaker set the tone at the No. 1 position with a commanding 21-16, 21-16 win over Carolina Cruz and Gianni Ramirez. The No. 3 pair of
Jayleen Santiago and
Jayden Ponsford followed with a 21-18, 21-17 victory against Tayla Barnes and Madelynn Coates.
NCF continued its momentum at No. 4, where Maria Luiza Barreis and Camilla Vaerini delivered a 21-16, 21-13 sweep of Margaret Sierra and Melanie Torres.
At No. 5 Ashlyn Caddell and Alba Romanos Gracia earned a 21-16, 21-13 straight-set win over Alexa Moore and Theynara de Jesus.
St. Thomas picked up its lone point at No. 2 in a tightly contested three-set battle. Morgan McGuire and Kayla Gentry fell 21-19, 16-21, 15-12 to Marii Ramos and Maite Solabarrietas.

Match 2 vs. Florida Memorial
The Banyans controlled every court, winning all five matches against the Lions.
At No. 1, Casey and  Fenstemaker earned a decisive 21-6, 21-9 victory over L'fe Roberts and Drew Lester. The No. 2 duo of McGuire and  Gentry followed with a 21-10, 21-13 win against Julia Carneiro and Juliana Medina.
Santiago and Ponsford remained perfect on the day at No. 3, defeating Serena Edwards and Isabella Cardona 21-17, 21-11. Luiza Barreis and  Vaerini added another point at No. 4 with a 21-13, 21-7 sweep of Leila Betancourt and Joemyrah Clendinen.
Romanos Gracia and Sibelle Dias capped the sweep at No. 5 with a 21-13, 21-10 win over Aviyah Henderson and Carolina Alonso.
