NCF Women's Lacrosse Finishes Homestand With 15-5 Victory Over Eastern Oregon

SARASOTA, Fla. - New College of Florida Women's Lacrosse controlled the final game of its five-game home stand from start to finish Monday, defeating Eastern Oregon 15-5 at the NCF Bayfront Field.

The Mighty Banyans struck first midway through the opening quarter as Baylie Dow found the back of the net to give the Banyans a 1-0 lead. After Eastern Oregon briefly tied the game, Ashley

Palmer and Makayla Hardware each scored late in the first to give New College a 3-1 advantage at the end of the period.

NCF took control in the second quarter, outscoring Eastern Oregon 5-1. Bella Bradshaw opened the scoring in the period off an assist from Dow, and Dow added three goals in the quarter as New College built an 8-2 lead heading into halftime.

New College continued to extend its lead in the third quarter, scoring five more times. Hardware and Hannah Picott each found the net multiple times in the period as the Banyans pushed the advantage to 13-4.

In the fourth, Picott and Hardware each added another goal to cap the scoring for New College and secure the 15-5 victory.
Dow and Hardware led the way offensively with five goals each, while Picott added three goals and an assist. Bradshaw and Palmer also scored, and Airiana Jerz recorded an assist.

New College finished with a 39-13 advantage in shots and controlled possession throughout, including a 15-5 edge in draw controls with Hardware leading the way with five and a 48-23 advantage in ground balls with Bradshaw leading the way with nine.

In goal, Abbigail Hardaker recorded four saves in the win as New College earned the victory at home.

With the win, the Mighty Banyans take a 3-5 record into the start of Sun Conference play which will begin April 4 at St. Thomas.
