SARASOTA, Fla. - NCF Women's Lacrosse fell at home 11- 4 to No. 10 Life on Senior Day Saturday to fall to 4-8 overall and 0-3 in Sun Conference play.
Before the game, NCF honored seniors/graduating players
Ashley Palmer,
Luisa Campos Ribeiro de Noronha,
Hannah Picott,
Laura Farias and
Amanda Pickens.
Baylie Dow gave the Banyans an early lead with an unassisted goal, and Palmer later scored off an assist from Picott to keep New College within one midway through the opening quarter.
Dow added her second goal early in the second quarter off another assist from Picott, but Life used a sustained run to pull away.
Picott added New College's final goal in the fourth quarter off an assist from
Bella Bradshaw.
Dow led the Banyans with two goals, while Picott finished with a goal and two assists. Palmer also scored, while Bradshaw added an assist.
Defensively, Picott also contributed a team-high five draw controls, while
Ashley Palmer added seven draw controls.
Abbigail Hardaker recorded 10 goals in net.
NCF will return to action Tuesday when it hosts No. 1 Keiser at 3 p.m. EST.
