NCF Baseball dropped two out of three games on the road to No. 11 Southeastern over the weekend, marking an end to its 2026 season and third year in program history.
The Mighty Banyans finish the season 22-27 overall and 8-20 in Sun Conference play.
Game 1
New College of Florida fell to Southeastern, 9-5, Thursday night in the series opener.
Southeastern jumped out early, scoring in each of the first two innings before New College got on the board in the fourth.
Patrick Fink launched a solo home run to cut the deficit to 2-1, but
The Fire answered and extended its lead with a five-run sixth inning.
Trailing 8-1, the Banyans showed life in the seventh.
Michael Magliocca opened the inning with a solo home run, and later
Rylan Jomisko delivered a three-run homer to bring New College within 8-5.
Southeastern added an insurance run in the eighth to close out the scoring.
Jomisko led the way offensively, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Fink finished 2-for-5 with a home run, while Magliocca added a homer and reached base twice. New College totaled eight hits in the contest.
Game 2
New College of Florida responded with an 8-2 victory over Southeastern in Game 2 of the series in the first game of a Friday doubleheader, which was a seven-inning afair.
After falling behind early, the Banyans answered in the fourth as
Luka Dodig drove in a run to tie the game. Southeastern briefly regained the lead, but New College took control in the fifth when
Fernando Espinal launched a two-run home run to put the Banyans in front.
New College added on in the sixth with an RBI single from
Brecken Fair before breaking the game open in the seventh. Jomisko delivered the decisive blow with a grand slam, extending the lead to 8-2.
Dalton Hill earned the win on the mound, allowing two runs on seven hits in a complete game, striking out seven.
Game 3
New College of Florida fell to Southeastern, 10-6, in Game 3 of the series Friday.
Southeastern jumped out early with three runs in the first and added another in the second to take a 4-0 lead. New College responded in the third, as
Fernando Espinal brought in a run on a sacrifice fly,
Matthew Merk followed with an RBI double, and Dodig worked a bases-loaded walk to tie the game at 3-3.
Southeastern answered immediately in the bottom half of the inning and continued to build its lead with runs in the fifth and seventh, extending the advantage to 8-4. The Fire added two more in the eighth to create separation.
Jomisko paced the Banyans offensively, going 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Merk added two hits and an RBI, while Espinal drove in two runs. Dodig also recorded an RBI.
New College attempted a late push in the ninth as
Patrick Fink and Espinal each drove in a run, but the rally fell short.
Game 4
New College of Florida was shut out by Southeastern, 6-0, in the series and season finale.
Southeastern broke through in the second inning on a solo home run and added another run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly to take a 2-0 lead. The game remained within reach until the seventh, when Southeastern plated four runs to pull away and seal the result.
Brian Garcia accounted for both of New College's hits, finishing 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles.
Owen McKinley took the loss, allowing two runs over 5.2 innings while striking out four.
