SARASOTA, Fla. – New College of Florida head beach volleyball coach Allison Denney has been named the Sun Conference Beach Volleyball Coach of the Year following a historic regular season for the Mighty Banyans.

In just the second year of the program's history, Denney guided New College to a 10-2 overall record and a perfect 10-0 mark in Sun Conference play, securing the program's first Sun Conference Regular Season Championship.

Under Denney's leadership, the Mighty Banyans earned the No. 1 seed in the Sun Conference Tournament, which begins Friday. New College also secured a bid to the NAIA Women's Beach Volleyball National Invitational later this month, becoming the first team in NCF Athletics history to qualify for a national postseason event.

New College will open Sun Conference Tournament play Friday as it looks to continue its record-setting season.
