SARASOTA, Fla. – New College of Florida's Olivia Fenstermaker has been named the Sun Conference Beach Volleyball Freshman of the Year after a breakout debut regular season.
Fenstermaker, a freshman from Columbus, Ohio, went 11-1 overall and 10-0 in Sun Conference play as part of the conference's top pair alongside
Cassidy Casey. The duo did not drop a single set in conference matches, with their only loss coming against NCAA Division I power Nebraska.
Fenstermaker played a key role in New College's historic season, helping lead the Mighty Banyans to a 10-2 overall record and a perfect 10-0 mark in Sun Conference play to claim the program's first Sun Conference Regular Season Championship.
New College enters the Sun Conference Tournament as the No. 1 seed and has secured a bid to the NAIA Women's Beach Volleyball National Invitational later this month, marking the first national postseason appearance in NCF Athletics history.
