SARASOTA, Fla. — New College of Florida has named
Emily Davis as the new head coach of its men's and women's swimming programs, Vice President of Athletics Mariano Jimenez Jr. announced Wednesday.
Davis will lead the Mighty Banyans after New College swimmers made history during the 2025-26 campaign with the program's first NAIA National Championship qualifiers and first All-American honoree.
A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Davis arrives at New College after serving as assistant coach at Rollins College. While at Rollins, she assisted with practice planning, recruiting, travel coordination, compliance, and administrative operations while also creating an alumni outreach initiative that increased donor contributions by 120 percent within its first year.
She also brings extensive club coaching experience, including roles with Tampa Elite Aquatics, Bobcat Swim Club, and the Ashland Area YMCA, where she served as Senior Swim Coach.
"
Emily Davis is an outstanding addition to New College Athletics," said Jimenez. "She brings high-level collegiate coaching experience, a strong background as a former Division I team captain, and a clear passion for developing scholar-athletes in a meaningful way. We are excited to welcome Emily to New College and look forward to the impact she will have on our swim program and our campus community."
Davis expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to continue building the swimming program at New College.
"I am honored to lead and continue building the swimming program here at New College of Florida," Davis said. "I would like to thank VP Jimenez, along with the search committee, for their trust and belief in my vision for the program. I am looking forward to developing student-athletes who strive for excellence in the pool, in the classroom, and throughout the campus community."
Prior to Rollins, Davis served as Assistant Director for Athletics Student Success and Academics at Stetson University, where she oversaw academic operations and support for seven athletic programs.
Davis earned both her Master of Business Administration and Master of Sport Administration degrees from Ohio University after completing a bachelor's degree in International Business and Sport Management.
As a student-athlete, Davis competed at the NCAA Division I level at Ohio University, where she served as team captain.
Davis inherits a New College program coming off a historic season that saw
Mya Nemechek,
Dominique Cos, and
Michaela Hickok qualify for the NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championship in Elkhart, Indiana. Nemechek also became the first All-American in program history during the 2025-26 season.
