SARASOTA, Fla. - New College of Florida Women's Soccer secured the program's single-season wins record with a 7-0 victory over Florida College Friday afternoon at Bayfront Field.
The Mighty Banyans (5-0-1) surpassed the previous program record of four victories, set during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Faith Hardy scored her ninth goal of the season to tie Naomi Woerner for the team lead and NCF's single-season program record. Addison DeWolf and Sarah Benjamin each scored twice as the Mighty Banyans finished with six second-half goals.
NCF outshot Florida College 45-0 and placed 28 attempts on goal while recording its fourth shutout of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
NCF controlled possession from the opening whistle, recording the first 12 shots and six corner kicks before breaking through in the 27th minute.
DeWolf scored the opening goal at the 26:47 mark, giving the Mighty Banyans a 1-0 advantage with her fourth goal of the season.
NCF carried its one-goal lead into halftime after outshooting Florida College 21-0 and placing 13 attempts on goal during the opening 45 minutes.
Hardy doubled the advantage in the 56th minute, scoring off an assist from Abigail Craig. The goal was Hardy's ninth of the season, tying Woerner for NCF's single-season scoring record.
The Mighty Banyans put the match away with three goals in a span of 1:43. Benjamin assisted DeWolf's second goal of the afternoon at the 70:34 mark before Aubrey Mau scored 32 seconds later.
Benjamin extended the lead to 5-0 in the 73rd minute, converting a pass from Brooke Laschke.
Benjamin added her second goal of the match off an assist from Tereza Cerna in the 87th minute before Gloria Quintanilla completed the scoring with her first goal of the season at the 88:49 mark.
THE TURNING POINT
Hardy's record-tying goal gave NCF a 2-0 advantage less than 11 minutes into the second half.
The Mighty Banyans followed with three goals in 1:43, turning a two-goal match into a commanding 5-0 lead. NCF added two more goals over the final four minutes to complete its record-setting fifth victory of the season.
