Coach Skoglund brings a ton of valuable experience to the coaching staff, including an impressive pro-career, and a three-year stint in the rotation with the Kansas City Royals.
Skoglund grew up in the Sarasota area, attending Sarasota High for 4 years prior to his collegiate career at the University of Central Florida. Skoglund's impressive play in high school led to him being selected in the 16th round of the 2011 MLB Amateur draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Skoglund ultimately elected to attend UCF in the fall of 2011.
Skoglund's impressive play continued at UCF, where he racked up accomplishments, including selections to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American team, All-Conference USA Freshman team, and was a Unanimous selection to the All-AAC First team and the American Athletic Conference pitcher of the year in his junior year.
Skoglund was selected in the third round of the 2014 MLB draft by the Kansas City Royals, where he pitched the entirety of his pro-career.
