Coach Townsend joins New College following an impressive career at Bradenton Christian, where he coached the boys' varsity team for 21 years.
Head Coach Andrew Wingreen say, "We are extremely excited to have Coach Townsend join our staff here at NCF! Not only does he bring a wealth of knowledge in the game of basketball, but he also embodies the character we are striving to teach our players. He will be a great asset to our coaching staff and will do an incredible job recruiting and developing players!"
During his tenure with the Panthers, Townsend's program won at an incredible rate, finishing his 21-year career with a 237-111 career record. Townsend's Panthers continued their success in the post-season, where they competed in 12 regional tournaments, 2 regional finals, and finished as the state runner-up in 2016.
Townsend's success led to many individual achievements as well. Townsend was awarded the coach of the year award eight separate times as the head coach at Bradenton Christian.
