WOMENS BASKETBALL DROPS GAME AT SOUTHEASTERN

Box Score SARASOTA, Fla. - The New College of Florida women's basketball team lost to Southeastern (RV) 31-88 on Saturday. 

The Mighty Banyans (3-4) struggled on the offensive end of the floor. New College opened the first quarter scoring 9 points on 40% shooting. The second quarter would prove to be more difficult for the Mighty Banyan offense. New College shot 25% in the second quarter, leading to a large halftime deficit. 

Southeastern (3-1) continued to control the game in the second half. The Fire held the Banyans to 6 third-quarter points while scoring 20 of their own, scoring 20+ points in every quarter of the game up to the start of the fourth quarter. 

The Mighty Banyans defense picked up the intensity in the fourth. New College held the Flames to 15 points on 40% shooting from the floor, by far their best defensive showing of the evening. 

Southeastern held on to their big lead, winning the game 88-31. 

The Mighty Banyans were led by junior guard Tatiana Jackson, who tallied an impressive 15 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. 

The Banyans are back in action this Wednesday, Nov. 15, when they travel to Hialeah, Fla. to face Florida National University.
