BANYANS FALL IN CLOSE MATCHUP VS WEBBER INTERNATIONAL

BABSON PARK, Fla. – New College of Florida women's volleyball falls in a tightly contested match-up with Webber International.

New College of Florida women's volleyball fell to 3-6 (2-3 SUN) on the season following a tough 3-2 loss to Webber International on Wednesday night.

The Banyans started off the evening on a high note. The Banyan's high-powered offense helped them jump out to an early 9-3 lead in set one. Following a short Warrior comeback, Rafaela Domingos helped the Banyans regain their lead. Cassidy Casey ended the set with a kill, putting the Banyans up 1-0 after winning set number one 25-19.

Following a defeat in set two, the Banyans bounced back again in set three. The Banyans got off to yet another quick start in the set, going up 5-1 in the opening moments of the set. The Banyan's offense continued to be too much for the Warrior defense, as they overpowered the Warrior blockers to win set three 25-20.

The Banyan's success fell short in the final two sets. The Banyans fell in the final two sets in an unfortunate fashion, including tallying service errors that diminished the Banyan's momentum. Webber's experience paid off for them in the final moments, helping them pull away to a narrow 15-10 victory in the fifth and final set.
