MOUNT VERNON, Geo. –New College men's basketball bounces back with victory over Middle Georgia State University.
New College men's basketball found their way back in the winner's column with an 80-71 win over Middle Georgia State University.
The Banyan's offense was unstoppable all afternoon. New College shot a blistering 50% from the field and 53% from downtown en route to victory.
Senior guard
Charlie Yoder got off to a fantastic start in the first half. Yoder led the Banyans with 11 points in the first frame. Yoder shot 5-10 from the field, grabbing two rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block.
The Banyans had seven players score in the first half, helping the Banyans enter the halftime break trailing by 5.
New College got going in the second half. The Banyans improved their field goal efficiency by 25 percentage points in the second half. The Banyans also connected on a scorching 83% from deep in the second frame.
Jordan Clark,
Charlie Yoder, and
Ben Walker all scored in double figures in the second half. The Banyans out-rebounded MGA by two in the second frame, showcasing their impact throughout the entirety of the half.
The Banyan's stellar second half helped them edge out MGA, as the Banyans captured their second win of the season.
Charlie Yoder led the Banyans with a team-high 24 points, while grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing out 3 assists.
Jordan Clark and
Ben Walker combined for 27 points on hyper-efficient shooting.
Adrian Moore and
Caleb Kozinski both added 9 points.
The Banyans will be back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 6 for a match up with Trinity College.
