WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - New College women's volleyball finished their regular season with a road upset against Keiser to secure a home playoff game.
In an inaugural Sun Conference year that saw quite a few ups and downs, the Banyans ended the final game of the regular season on a high note, pulling off a 3-0 sweep against the 3rd-ranked team in the conference.
Through three sets the Banyans were in full control of the contest. An eight-kill performance from
Kaja Szuba aided New College to a 25-21 set one victory, and things only got better from there. The Banyans quieted a strong Keiser attack, holding their opponent to just 16 points in the second set, and any chance for a Seahawk comeback was snuffed out after New College completed the sweep with a 25-21 win in set three.
Szuba finished her day with 18 digs and 14 kills, cementing herself as the team leader in regular season kills with 165. Louisa Hoffman had an impressive day defensively, leading her team with seven total blocks.
Not only does this win help the Banyans finish with a .500 conference record, but, with a Webber International loss to Keiser later in the day, it also means New College will host a home playoff game against Webber to kick off the postseason.
