BRADENTON, Fla. – New College of Florida men's basketball claims victory in high-powered shootout vs Warner University.
New College men's basketball picked up their 4
th consecutive win in a 124-117 shootout against the Warner University Royals.
New College rode their best offensive performance of the season to victory. The Banyans scored a season-high 124 points on fantastic 61%, 55%, 84% splits.
Charlie Yoder continued his amazing season by setting a new career high. The senior scored 44 points on 10-17 shooting from the field and 22-25 shooting from the free-throw line. Yoder also grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 8 assists in the match-up.
Yoder's 44 stands as the new single-game scoring record for the Banyans. His 22 free throws made are also a new record.
The Banyans rode their impressive offensive into the half, leading 66-41 at the break.
The Royals' offensive responded in the second half. Following their offensive struggles in the first, the Royals scored an unbelievable 76 points in the second half, diminishing the Banyan lead to make it a close game in the final minutes
New College's offense held strong, propelling the Banyans to the high-scoring victory.
Jack Scott was another standout for the Banyans, scoring 26 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
Diego Eslava and
Shawn Lefresne each scored 17 points, with the duo playing a major role in the Banyans success down the stretch.
Jordan Clark,
Adrian Moore, and
Giovanni Toscanini rounded out the scoring for New College.
