NCF Women's Soccer earned a 1-1 draw with No. 11 ranked and defending NAIA National Champion SCAD Savannah on the road Saturday to maintain its spot near the top of the Sun Conference standings.
SCAD struck first as Emilia Irle scored at the 8:40 mark to make it 1-0, but from there, NCF kept the Bees off the scoreboard.
Meanwhile,
Naomi Woerner evened the score with her team-leading fourth goal of the year, scoring off an assist from
Tereza Cerna at the 35:29 mark to make it 1-1.
The rest of the way, neither team would be able to find the back of the net as the game finished in a draw.
Defending Sun Conference Defender of the Week
Avaya Wright was once again outstanding in net for the Mighty Banyans as she made eight saves to help overcome NCF being out shot 18-8 overall and 9-4 on net. Seven of her saves came in the second half to help the Mighty Banyans escape with the draw.
NCF will return to the Bayfront Wednesday to host St. Thomas in a 1 p.m. EST Sun Conference tilt.
