For the first time this season, NCF Men's Soccer suffered a second straight loss as it fell 5-2 at St. Thomas Wednesday.
St. Thomas got off to a blazing fast start as Hugo Rego scored at the 3:16 mark and Bouget Bouzis scored at the 5:23 mark to give the Bobcats a near instant 2-0 lead.
The quick start by the Bobcats would not faze the Mighty Banyans as
Andrew Scott scored off an assist from
Cameron Johnson at the 20:07 mark to move the Banyans within one and nearly 10 minutes later at the 30:06 mark,
Ducamel Jeannestin scored his 10th goal of the year to tie the game at 2-2, which would be the score taken into halftime.
The game would stay deadlocked at 2-2 until the 78:34 mark, when a header from Rego put the Bobcats on top 3-2.
Less than a minute and a half later, St. Thomas added insurance as Thiago Patto scored at the 80:10 mark to make it 4-2 in favor of the Bobcats.
Tim Kreuzpeintner added a fifth St. Thomas goal at the 84:42 mark as the Bobcats handed the Mighty Banyans its third conference loss.Â
With the loss, NCF is now 9-3-1 overall and owns a 2-3-0 Sun Conference record. The Mighty Banyans will be back in action Saturday when it hosts Southeastern at 1 p.m. EST.Â
