NCF Women's Soccer fell on the road Wednesday, 2-0, to Sun Conference foe Florida Memorial as the Lions finished off a regular season sweep of the Mighty Banyans.
The Lions wasted no time jumping in front as Jada Samuels scored at the 1:46 mark to give FMU an early 1-0 lead it would never relinquish.
FMU added insurance in the second half as Alba Carcamo-Alvarado scored at the 57:57 mark, giving the Lions all that they would need to earn the victory.
In net, two-time Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week
Avaya Wright made three saves in the first half, allowing the goal to Samuels, while
Maria Schatzl made two saves and also allowed one goal playing the second half at goaltender for the Mighty Banyans.
With the loss, NCF falls to 2-11-1 overall and 2-4-1 in Sun Conference play.Â
The Mighty Banyans are now in sixth place in the Sun Conference standings, which would be enough to earn the final spot in the conference tournament.
NCF will finish regular season play next week by visiting non-conference foe Florida National on Monday and then hosting Sun Conference rival Ave Maria Wednesday.
