On Sept. 10, Webber scored a game-winning goal at the NCF Bayfront to leave the Mighty Banyans stunned. Saturday, NCF turned the tables in Babson Park as a goal from
Naomi Woerner with less than two and a half minutes remaining helped NCF beat Webber 4-3 in a thriller.
NCF struck first blood as at the 7:36 mark,
Abigail Hansen scored her first goal of the season to give the Mighty Banyans an early 1-0 lead that wound up being taken into halftime.
Early in the second half, NCF pushed its lead to 2-0 as Woerner scored her second goal of the year at the 47:57 mark.
From there, chaos ensued.
Webber answered back with three consecutive goals as Ariana Suarez scored at the 52:24 mark, Tatum Moore put in the equalizer at the 64:56 mark, and Suarez scored at the 71:17 mark to put the Warriors ahead 3-2.
Less than 30 seconds after Suarez put the Warriors ahead, NCF drew even as
Summer Steele scored her second goal of the season to tie the game at 3-3.
With 87:39 left, it was Woerner who broke the tie with a breakaway goal that ultimately proved to be the game-winner.
While she allowed three second half goals,
Avaya Wright made five saves to earn the win to finish the week with 24 saves in just two matches.
With the win, NCF improves to 2-8 overall and 2-1 in Sun Conference play. The Mighty Banyans will be back in action next Saturday when they visit defending NAIA National Champion and No. 11 ranked SCAD Savannah in a 1 p.m. EST Sun Conference tilt.
