A late second half surge propelled NCF Men's Soccer past Florida College 3-1 on Tuesday in a non-conference showdown on the road in Temple Terrace.
The match entered halftime scoreless as NCF got just two shots off on goal while the Mighty Banyan defense kept the Falcons from getting of any shots on target.
Things would remain deadlocked until the 69:08 mark when two-time defending Sun Conference Offensive Player of The Week
Cameron Johnson delivered a go-ahead goal to break the scoreless tie.
NCF would add on to its lead at the 80:29 mark as
Juan Gomez-Cuetara scored his second goal of the season, scoring off an assist from
Peter Simmons.Â
Then, at the 82:03 mark, NCF scored once again thanks to an own goal from the Falcons that made it 3-0.
Florida College would get on the board at the 82:42 with a goal from Leo Hackett, but it would be too little too late as NCF held on to win the match by two.
In net,
Henrique Furlan made his first start of the season and earned the win despite not having to make a save.
The Mighty Banyans will return to action Saturday when it resumes Sun Conference play by welcoming SCAD Savannah to the NCF Bayfront for a 1 p.m. EST match.
