BRADENTON, Fla. - NCF Women's Basketball (1-0) cruised to a dominant season-opening win over Trinity College at SCF-Bradenton Saturday, earning an 82-38 victory.
The Mighty Banyans led wire to wire and outscored the Tigers by 10 or more points in each quarter, holding Trinity to a 13-for-49 (26.5%) clip from the field.
Offensively, NCF shot 27-for-62 (43.5%) from the field, 12-for-30 (40.0%) from three and 16-for-20 (80.0%) from the charity stripe.
Julia Pacheco led NCF with 14 points while adding five rebounds, five blocks and a steal.
Sania Thomas added 14 points and 14 rebounds to record a double-double while also picking up a team-leading six steals.
Joining Pacheco and Thomas in double figures were
Halle Shelt (12) and
Tatiana Jackson (10).
Every Mighty Banyan who saw playing time scored at least three points in the victory.
NCF will return to action next Saturday when it travels to Hialeah to take on non-conference foe Florida National at 2 p.m. EST
