LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – New College of Florida Men's Soccer earned a 2-1 exhibition victory over Millennia Atlantic at Premier Sports Campus in a tuneup ahead of its regular season opener Thursday.
Senior Sebastián Pedraza opened the scoring Saturday with a goal at the 8:35 mark in the first half. NCF would carry that 1-0 lead into the first half as the Mighty Banyans held MAU to just one shot attempt in the opening half.
MAU would tie the score at the game's 68:06 mark as a ball deflected by the Mighty Banyans trickled into the back of the net, evening the game at 1-1.
The game would not stay tied for long as freshman attacker
Juan Palomino scored the ultimate game-winning goal at the 71:28 mark.
NCF attempted 13 shots in the contest, including firing off seven shots on goal. Freshman
Cameron Johnson led the Mighty Banyans with four shot attempts, including two on goal.
The Mighty Banyans will open regular season play by hosting Warner at 7 p.m. Thursday at Premier Sports Campus. The contest will be counted as a non-conference affair.
